Portrait of Clara (as a chemist)
2 weeks ago
Meanwhile the mind, from pleasure less,
Withdraws into its happiness:
The mind, that ocean where each kind
Does straight its own resemblance find;
Yet it creates, transcending these,
Far other worlds, and other seas;
Annihilating all that's made
To a green thought in a green shade.
Andrew Marvell, "The Garden" 41-48

I always find it takes a minute, or a week, to really get going. Whew.
Amazing, isn't it. And teachers have it worse than students -- the most difficult thing about my transition back to studenthood was remembering that being a student means being completely exhausted one hundred per cent of the time. Them brains, they work real hard, they do. Yipes!
