Just the endorphins talking. In prospectus.

My brother invited me (is that the right verb?) to do a triathlon with him in January.

On one hand, I'm considering it, because it's a WINTER triathlon: running, biking, XCskiing. I'm all over 1 and 3 anyway.

On the other hand, as even occasional visitors to this blog may know, I lack that thing called "free time." Sure, I run every day, pretty far, and I XCski as soon as the snow flies. But I haven't biked since high school middle school. And I'd have to step up my XCskiing to hit a competitive speed. And, you know, if I'm not in it to compete, why bother? I can run and ski for pleasure every day.

Am I actually considering it? Or is it just my challenge-gland firing up?

Do it!! I would if my head wasn't so heavy.

Just say no. Remember that whole "I am so busy that sleep is a luxury" discussion? There are times to compete and there are times to endure.

it might not be as big of a deal as you think...5k run, 10k bike/ski. it's going to take you an hr and a half at most...I think it's more for fun than competition/recognition...so if you lack free time, you might not want to waste it on this. but thats just my two pennies...

OH! I thought it was a full-on hardcore triathlon. I was gearing up for a half-marathon etc. I'm totally on board for those distances, which WOULD be fun rather than overwhelming.

But....what time does it start? You know how I am about the a.m.....

And it wasn't so much that I wanted to compete to win. Heh. I don't have any illusions about that. But that if it were a strenuous event, I'd want to finish well enough not to make an utter embarrassment of myself.

You'll have to talk to Ryan about details, because I'm not sure..but I'm pretty sure this is the website w/ details. http://www.bashwintertri.com/
